Review of the
film Sound of Music
The sound of music is (of course) a
musical film. It is also a romantic film. It was released in 1966 and it won
many Oscars and other prizes.
The main actor was Christopher Plummer and the main
actress was Julie Andrews. They are wonderful actors and the film is extremely
touching.
The soundtrack is beautiful. Many songs are still
famous today, like Edelweiss and My favourite things.
The plot is simple: a captain needs a private teacher
for his 7 children. There are many candidates, but the children are always terrible
with them. Finally one is chosen. She (Maria) comes from a convent. At first the
children don’t like her and they make her life terrible but in time they learn
to like her.
Maria falls in love with the captain. However, the
captain is going to marry another woman.
World War II starts and they must escape…
I really loved this film,
because it is powerful; the soundtrack is wonderful and the set is incredible:
the Alps, a big house, lovely songs. Everyone should see it!
